Directly across the street from the most expensive accommodation in town Echo Point Discovery Motel is perfectly situated less than 5 minutes walk from Echo Point Lookout. 25 minutes walk downhill from the train and shops, Bus 686 runs half hourly to the train as well. Room simple and very cosy. Very quiet neighborhood after hours.

Despite being in a prized Blue Mountains location, the owners have let the building deteriorate to the point of embarrassment for the local area. Upon arriving for our two night stay, we found our room to be smelly and dirty. There was a leak in the bathroom, with a brown stain on the floor tiles. There were a number of examples of the room not being cleaned. It was too much for us and we demanded a refund and cancellation. Luckily, the receptionist was a very pleasant woman, and did what she could to assist. There are many other places in the area better than this. Suggest you look elsewhere.

Breakfast is also better than expected, except service can be a little slow as there’s only one service staff. There’s free parking here as well. But what I love most is the location - around 200m away from Echo Point lookout. If the weather permits, you can get a good view of the sunrise/sunset.
